Modern dentistry has evolved into a minimally invasive approach. This can be a challenge in the deciduous dentition. This presentation will outline the principles and philosophies of Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID). A range of case studies will be used to illustrate the minimally invasive diagnostics and provide a greater understanding of microdentistry.

About Presenter
Professor Ramos-Gomez is a Professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Executive Director for the UCLA Center for Children’s Oral Health at the School of Dentistry. He has been a paediatric dentist for more than thirty years with specific focus and research in the areas of early childhood caries (ECC) prevention, oral disease risk assessment, and community health with an emphasis on underserved populations. As a proponent of global health, Professor Ramos-Gomez has supported the UC California-Mexico Health Initiative, established in 1999 to further the advancement of the UC bi-national health activities, and chaired the Oral Health Task Force, which fosters collaboration between UC and Mexican scientists in the areas of dental, paediatrics and oral health policy.
