Course Outline:
Suturing is an important aspect of any dental surgical procedure where there is either cutting or injury to the soft tissue in the oral cavity. Proper placement of sutures can help in faster and proper healing of the tissues involved. It is very important that the correct type of suturing technique and suture material is used.

About the Presenter:
Dr Lee Kaing is a dual-qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She completed a Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours in 2005 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2011 from The University of Melbourne, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. She obtained specialist training in Victoria and Western Australia.
Lee has worked at hospitals in Perth, Melbourne, Hobart and Canberra and gained international experience at Oxford University Hospitals in the UK.
Dr Kaing works in a private practice and is a Consultant Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital. Her special interests include dental extractions, wisdom teeth and dentaoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, and corrective jaw surgery.
