COVID-19 information for West Australian dentists

Posted on 31st January 2021

As you are aware, the WA Government has acted decisively and swiftly in response to a fast-evolving situation of a Perth hotel quarantine worker testing positive to COVID-19.

Since the announcement, ADAWA has been in discussions with the WA Department of Health and Dental Services WA in relation to the implications of this uncontained outbreak, the subsequent lockdown, and how it will impact the provision of dental care to your patients.

Effective from 6pm this evening (January 31) until 6pm on Friday (February 5), dental services in the Perth metropolitan, Peel and South West Regions are to practise under Level 3 service restrictions as per the ADA Dental Service COVID-19 Restrictions.

If you are not within these regions you can continue to practise at level 1 restrictions. WA regional boundaries can be found here.

Aside from the infection-control risks, these restrictions are also in place to restrict the mobilisation and interaction of the public.

These restrictions are based on best health advice and are under constant review. ADAWA will be in regular communication across the week, keeping you all updated.

ADAWA encourages all dentists to refresh their knowledge of the resources available on the ADA COVID-19 website, especially the level 3 decision tree documents.

Should you have any further concerns or require clarification of these documents please contact the branch on 08 9211 5600.
