“Why should you want to work in AIM Merredin? Because it’s the best!! Professionally, treating rural patients is very different to those based in a metro centre. Country patients are much more appreciative of the service you can provide, as the barrier to access of services for them is so much higher. Specifically as a recent graduate or an early career dentist – seeing a patient in Perth is unfeasible for many people, so your scope inherently expands to meet the needs. David is a great lead clinician, and provides a greatly appreciated safety net with the ability to look after you if you get into trouble. He’s also very accessible throughout the day, if you’ve just got a quick query and need a second opinion. On top of the blossoming professional opportunities, the social life is fantastic. The team are incredibly supportive, everyone treats you like family and goes out of their way to make you feel included. Just the Merredin crew organised a wildflower tour, and a few other social events for me. The wider AIM community (with the metro clinics) also have a mid-year and end of year function, and it reflects in everyone’s morale, making it a fantastic place to be.”
